A Walk Round Plugstreet

A Walk Round Plugstreet is a map that takes you from the British Memorial to the site of the Christmas Truce, the UEFA Christmas Truce Monument and other 14-18 memorials as well as three British cemeteries in the heart of the woods.

Starting point: ANZAC monument on the Plugstreet site.

 

Winston Churchill in Ploegsteert

Relive the presence of Lieutenant-Colonel Winston Churchill from January 1916 to May 1916 in Ploegsteert by following its specially dedicated trail.

Many other activities (hikes, walks, cycling, nature discoveries) are offered to you at the reception of the centre via free brochures at your disposal.

 

Memorial Heritage

The Great War left a lasting impression in our collective memory. The losses suffered, the destructuring of the habitat, the loss of landmarks stigmatized consciences and provoked a duty of memory whose the most significant symbols are the military cemeteries and memorials, moving tributes to the thousands of victims who fell on the territory of Comines-Warneton.
