Bas-Warneton
It was located nearby the Lys river (close to the present graveyard). An old shrine with Romanesque tower mentioned the date of 1674.
It was completely destroyed during the First World War.

Between 1919 and 1927, a temporary church, a kind of wooden shack, was installed along the road from Comines to Warneton.
The present church was opened on July 7, 1927. Its flambé ceramics are typical for the Art Nouveau style. It is dedicated to Saint Martin.
Before the First World War, there were three clocks. The first one disappeared. Both other ones were found back. The middle-sized one, giving the « G » had been « borrowed » by the Germans during the 2nd World War, but was brought back to Warneton in 1945. The smallest one gives the « C ».
